About Us

Divider Line Element

In 2004, we founded our family, welcoming our first son in 2007 followed by our second in 2011. The year 2019 marked our relocation to the beautiful state of Idaho. My husband, a Navy Veteran, stands as my devoted supporter in our ambitious mission to introduce exceptionally well-bred Golden Retrievers into homes across the United States. Our deep-rooted love for animals has been a constant throughout our lives. From childhood, we were surrounded by a myriad of furry and feathered companions, from dogs and cats to birds and even pet rats. Our home has always been a haven for animals of all kinds. The notion of breeding first captured our hearts when we acquired our initial dogs together. After exploring various breeds, our hearts settled on the Golden Retriever, drawn to their affectionate nature. With time, our dream of breeding these wonderful dogs became a reality when we established ourselves permanently in Idaho. Our ultimate goal is to provide you with the most exceptional pets possible.

In our breeding program, the welfare and happiness of our Golden Retrievers always come first, emphasizing their role as beloved pets before anything else. We firmly believe that responsible breeding starts with ensuring that our dogs are cherished members of our family, enjoying a life filled with love and companionship. Our dogs are not just breeding stock; they are loyal, affectionate, and playful companions who bring immeasurable joy to our lives. By prioritizing their well-being and happiness, we aim to produce not only healthy puppies but also dogs that inherit the gentle, friendly, and sociable nature for which Golden Retrievers are renowned. It's a commitment to preserving the breed's best qualities while fostering a deep connection with these remarkable animals.

OFA

OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) testing plays a pivotal role in our breeding program, and its significance cannot be overstated. We conduct OFA testing to ensure the overall health and well-being of our Golden Retrievers and the puppies they produce. By evaluating orthopedic issues, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, OFA testing allows us to identify potential hereditary conditions early on. This proactive approach helps us make informed decisions about which dogs to include in our breeding program, reducing the risk of passing on genetic health problems to future generations.

OFA testing also extends beyond orthopedic health, encompassing evaluations for cardiac, ophthalmic, and other genetic conditions. It's not just about ensuring that our dogs are physically sound, but also about maintaining the breed's impeccable temperament and behavior. We prioritize the emotional and psychological well-being of our dogs, as their temperament and disposition are as crucial as their physical health.

In essence, OFA testing is a cornerstone of our commitment to responsible breeding. It allows us to produce puppies with the best chances for a long, healthy, and happy life, while upholding the integrity of the Golden Retriever breed. By investing in these evaluations, we not only protect the future of our dogs but also promote the well-being of the families that will welcome our puppies into their homes.

PennHip

We use PennHIP (Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program) in our breeding program for several reasons.

1. Early Detection: One of the key advantages of PennHIP is its ability to detect hip laxity in dogs as young as 16 weeks old. This early detection allows breeders and veterinarians to identify potential hip problems before they become more severe, enabling proactive management strategies and informed breeding decisions.

2. Quantifiable Results: PennHIP provides objective measurements of hip laxity, rather than relying on subjective assessments. This quantitative data allows for more precise evaluation of hip health, helping breeders make more informed decisions about which dogs to include in their breeding programs.

3. Predictive Value: Research has shown that PennHIP results have predictive value for the development of hip dysplasia later in life. Dogs with higher degrees of hip laxity are more likely to develop hip dysplasia, making PennHIP an important tool for identifying dogs at risk and guiding breeding practices to reduce the incidence of this hereditary condition.

4. Selective Breeding: By using PennHIP, breeders can selectively breed dogs with tighter hips, thereby reducing the prevalence of hip dysplasia within a breed over time. This selective breeding approach helps improve overall hip health and reduces the risk of passing on hip dysplasia to future generations.

5. Breed Improvement: Incorporating PennHIP into breeding programs contributes to the overall improvement of the breed's hip health. Over generations, breeders can gradually reduce the prevalence of hip dysplasia and other hip-related issues, leading to healthier and more structurally sound dogs.

6. Professional Recognition: PennHIP is widely recognized and endorsed by veterinary professionals and breed clubs as a valuable tool for assessing hip health in dogs. Breeders who utilize PennHIP demonstrate their commitment to responsible breeding practices and the health and welfare of their dogs.

We believe that by incorporating PennHIP into our breeding program it will lead to healthier dogs and hopefully improve the Golden Retriever breed.

Embark testing is an invaluable tool in our breeding program, crucial for ensuring the genetic health and overall well-being of our Golden Retrievers. This comprehensive DNA testing offers insights into a multitude of aspects, from ancestry and breed purity to genetic health conditions and traits. Its significance lies in several key areas:

1. *Health Assurance:* Embark testing provides a comprehensive look at the genetic health of our dogs, identifying potential carriers of hereditary conditions, ensuring that they do not pass on harmful genetic traits to their offspring. By avoiding these genetic pitfalls, we work towards producing healthier puppies.

2. *Breeding Pair Selection:* Embark enables us to make well-informed decisions when selecting breeding pairs. By analyzing the DNA of potential parents, we can better predict the traits and health outcomes of their offspring. This careful pairing contributes to producing puppies with a reduced risk of genetic disorders.

3. *Ancestry and Breed Purity:* Understanding the ancestry and breed purity of our dogs is essential for maintaining the integrity of the Golden Retriever lineage. Embark helps us trace the lineage of our dogs, ensuring that they adhere to breed standards and preserving the breed's legacy.

4. *Behavior and Traits:* Beyond health, Embark testing also delves into the behavior and trait characteristics of our dogs. This aids in creating well-rounded puppies with the ideal temperament and disposition, ensuring that our dogs not only look the part but also act as the loving, friendly, and loyal companions that Golden Retrievers are known for.

Embark testing is crucial to our breeding program, enhancing our commitment to producing healthy, genetically diverse, and well-rounded Golden Retrievers. It's a powerful tool that allows us to safeguard the future of our dogs and provide families with puppies that are not only beautiful but also equipped for a long and happy life.

ESI & ENS

We prioritize the use of ESI (Early Scent Introduction) and ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) in our breeding program as these practices are instrumental in fostering the physical, emotional, and psychological development of our Golden Retriever puppies.

*Early Scent Introduction (ESI):* ESI involves introducing puppies to a variety of scents and odors during their critical early developmental stages. This practice plays a crucial role in acclimating our puppies to different smells they may encounter throughout their lives. By exposing them to various scents, we help our puppies become familiar with the world around them, reducing fear or anxiety reactions in unfamiliar situations. ESI contributes to well-adjusted dogs that are more confident, less stressed, and better prepared for family life.

*Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS):* ENS consists of gentle, tactile

stimulation exercises applied to newborn puppies in their first few weeks of life. These exercises help to stimulate the puppies' neurological systems, promoting healthy brain development. ENS has been shown to offer various advantages, including improved cardiovascular performance, enhanced stress tolerance, and increased resistance to disease. By incorporating ENS, we aim to give our puppies the best possible start in life, creating a solid foundation for their future health and resilience.

By integrating ESI and ENS into our breeding program, we demonstrate our dedication to producing Golden Retrievers that are not only physically healthy but also emotionally secure and adaptable. These practices ensure our dogs are well-equipped to face the world with confidence, making them exceptional, lifelong companions for the families they join.

The use of the Puppy Culture program in our breeding efforts is rooted in our commitment to raising well-rounded, confident, and socially adept Golden Retriever puppies. This comprehensive program, encompassing a range of critical developmental stages, is instrumental for several reasons:

1. *Early Socialization:* The Puppy Culture program emphasizes early socialization, a crucial phase in a puppy's life where they are exposed to various experiences, people, and environments. By carefully introducing our puppies to these stimuli, we help them develop into dogs that are comfortable in diverse situations, making them adaptable and resilient.

2. *Behavioral Enrichment:* The program includes a wealth of enriching activities and experiences that promote curiosity, problem-solving, and a positive attitude in our puppies. This focus on behavioral enrichment ensures that our dogs possess the right temperament and disposition that Golden Retrievers are renowned for.

3. *Emotional Resilience:* Puppy Culture techniques foster emotional resilience by reducing the likelihood of fear

and anxiety in our puppies. This results in dogs that are more emotionally secure, less prone to stress, and better prepared for the challenges of family life.

4. *Health and Welfare:* The program incorporates guidelines for proper nutrition, exercise, and healthcare. These aspects are pivotal in ensuring the overall well-being of our puppies, making them physically robust and healthy.

5. *Lifelong Learning:* The Puppy Culture program encourages a lifelong commitment to learning, both for our puppies and their future families. By instilling a love for learning and training early on, our dogs are set on a path for continuous growth and development.

Incorporating the Puppy Culture program into our breeding efforts is a testament to our dedication to producing not only physically healthy but also emotionally and behaviorally sound Golden Retrievers. We believe that a well-rounded upbringing is the key to producing dogs that make exceptional, lifelong companions for the families they join.
